Joe Lykken’s Summary of Particle Physics
Fermilab physicist Joe Lykken has posted a nice, relatively qualitative paper on the arXiv regarding the current “big picture” of particle physics.
Abstract: A concise look at the big picture of particle physics, including the status of the Standard Model, neutrinos, supersymmetry, extra dimensions and cosmology. Based upon the theoretical summary presented at the XLIst Rencontres de Moriond on Electroweak Interactions and Unified Theories, La Thuile, 11-18 March 2006.
Fun fact: The top mass (in units of the Higgs vev over root 2) is 1 (plus or minus .01).
